These women are definitely working for a change

EJUSA Executive Director Shari Silberstein traveled to Philadelphia last month to connect with our one of our partners, Mothers in Charge, about our future work together to demand services for crime survivors.

While there, we had a few moments to address a group of women recently released from prison. They were participating in a unique new program called “Women Working for a Change,” a 10-week curriculum at the Mothers in Charge office that includes assistance and workshops in interviewing, resume writing, time management, job searching and applications, life and parenting skills, anger management, substance abuse prevention, and peer negotiation skills – all while providing them with an hourly wage.
