Speakers Tell Their Stories Concerning Capital Punishment

MISSOULA, Mont. — People in several Montana cities are weighing the pros and cons of the death penalty. The Abolition Coalition is presenting forums in Missoula, Corvallis and Arlee this week to foster discussion on capital punishment.Speakers have firsthand experience with the death penalty.

Tonight at the University of Montana, Terri Steinberg presented the story of her son who is on death row in Virginia for a murder for hire crime that Steinberg says he didn’t commit. “We now have an appeal coming up on November second and, hopefully, we can bring forth the evidence that has been sitting on the courtroom floors for nine years and maybe bring my son home.”
The series is called ‘Beyond Repair.’

The next forums will take place Friday, October 8th, at 7:00 pm at the United Methodist Church at Cemetery Road and Eastside Highway in Corvallis and Sunday, October 10th, at 12:30 pm at the Arlee Sacred Heart Church, 343 Hi Francis Road in Arlee.
