Our Momentum Continues into the Spring

Our momentum continues fresh off of our success at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) last month, where we returned for a second time. Conservatives Concerned about the Death Penalty (CCATDP) has been traveling across the nation, speaking at conservative conventions, and recruiting new supporters. Conservatives Concerned in the media The media continues to be very excited about CCATDP and our story. Here are some of our favorite stories in the last month: I was a guest on the Real Side with Joe Messina, Kentucky NPR, and KTSA 550 AM radio in San Antonio. CCATDP was also covered in the Washington Times, Brown University Political Review, the Charlotte Observer, and the print versions of Kentucky NPR and KTSA News. Conservatives Concerned in the field Ben Jones, campaign strategist for CCATDP, spoke at the inaugural Life/Peace/Justice Conference in Philadelphia, PA on March 29. Ben’s talk highlighted the death penalty as an important issue for conference attendees, who came together to discuss a variety of life issues. I exhibited and spoke at both the Kentucky and Texas Young Americans for Liberty state conventions. The conventions featured several CCATDP supporters, including Dr. Ron Paul, Lawrence Reed, President of the Foundation for Economic Education, and award-winning vlogger, Julie Borowski. My speeches were very well received and our booths were often swarmed by new supporters asking how to get involved. One new supporter quietly approached me, thanked me for CCATDP’s existence, and he asked if he could hug me to show his gratitude. Of course! Special thanks to the local conservatives in Texas and Kentucky who helped staff the booth and ensure that CCATDP had a presence at these events. Help us continue our momentum Because of people like you, we are ending the fiction that all conservatives and libertarians support the death penalty, but we need to continue our momentum. You can help us get the word out by inviting us to speak at your school, political organization, or civic group. There are many other ways of getting involved too. Send me an email if you are interested: march@conservativesconcerned.org. We also will be exhibiting and speaking at the California Young Americans for Liberty state convention on April 26. If you are in the Los Angeles area, then make sure you drop by and say hello.
