In 2011, Senator Dave Wanzenreid introduced SB 185A, “An Act Abolishing the Death Penalty and Replacing It With Life Imprisonment Without the Possibilty of Parole.”
The bill was heard in Senate Judiciary on February 8th and passed out of committee by a vote of 7 – 5. It was debated on the Senate floor for second reading on February 14th and passed by a vote of 26 – 24.
The bill was heard in House Judiciary on March 15th, and was tabled in committee on March 18th.
