#90mStrong Monday: “…I learned that everyone is made in the image of God.”

Welcome to #90mStrong Mondays. Here we’ll share a #90mStrong Tumblr story, from one of the 90 million people who oppose the death penalty. Are you one of the #90mstrong? Raise your voice to put an end to the death penalty! Share your story at ncadp.tumblr.com.
When I was a child in Sunday School I learned that everyone is made in the image of God. We were taught to recognize God in every human being—even “the least of us.”
I oppose the death penalty because it denies the fact that even those who have done the worst of things are still made in the image of God. While the state has the right to hold people accountable for the harm they do, it should not cross the line and seek to stand in the place of the Creator.
I oppose the death penalty.

The NCADP has created the 90 Million Strong Campaign to unite the voices of those who believe the death penalty is wrong. We need to demonstrate that the broad public support to end this practice is already here in America, and 90 million people speaking up can make a difference.

The 90 million people who oppose the death penalty are organized, energized, and ready to end capital punishment. Join us today.
